In the last ten days Bethlehem Police have been working closely with Bethlehem Central School District officials, in regards to three incidents of threats of school violence. In all of these incidents specific threats of school violence have been posted on various social media websites.
The nature and context of these threats caused concern to multiple students, and parents, who came forward to both school administrators and the School Resource Officer. Investigations into these threats were immediately commenced. Based upon these investigations police have determined that there is no imminent threat at this time.
Investigations into all of these incidents were conducted and, as a result, Bethlehem Police have arrested three 15-year-old Town residents. The three juveniles were all charged with one felony count of Making a Terroristic Threat, and referred to the Albany County Probation Department.
The Bethlehem Police Department and Bethlehem Central School District is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all students and staff members, and to ensure the safest possible learning environment.
