Albany County is updating the County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan with funding in part from a $50,000 grant from NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. The County Planning Department is working with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County, the County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board, an Advisory Committee, and the consulting firm ACDS LLC. to complete the plan. The update will help the County assess the current state of the agriculture industry, identify opportunities for farmland protection, and focus on initiatives to enhance the agriculture industry in the County. You can follow the progress of the update on the County webpage at http://www.albanycounty.com/2017afpp.aspx
