First Night 2018 will be modeled after the premier event. We are partnering with the Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation, Bethlehem Senior Projects, Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited, Bethlehem Community Fund, as well as the churches and other institutions providing space and a network of volunteers.
Band selections will be approved by committee. Please submit your band's interest in performing at First Night by completing and submitting an application by September 15, 2017.

Presentation of “Habitats and Wildlife in the Town of Bethlehem” by Ingrid Haeckel, Conservation and Land Use Specialist at the NYDEC Hudson River Estuary Program. The information provided in this in-depth summary of habitats and wildlife found in our town has helped inform the town-wide open space planning process that is currently underway.

Meet at the Henry Hudson Park Kayak Launch. Learn about Bethlehem’s historic river connections from the unique perspective of actually being on the water. Experience the historic Nicoll-Sill House, Winne’s dock, Parda Hook, and if the creek is passable, the waterfall on the Vlomankill. Participants MUST bring all of their own gear, including personal flotation device, and be proficient paddlers. Ms. Leath will provide the history info, but is not a boating instructor. High tide for 8/24 is predicted for 7:21 p.m.

We recognize the need for a place for caregivers to share their struggles and successes with others who understand. You are not alone! This is a caregiver's support group waiting for you. Join us for a day at the beach at Long Pond located at Grafton Lakes State Park, between the Taconic and Hudson Valleys. Enjoy a swim, a hike, or sit and enjoy the scenery. Bring your beach gear, a chair, towel, umbrella, Frisbee, sunscreen and a picnic lunch. There is a concession stand available along with picnic tables around the beach and in the shade.
