Management of Information Systems (MIS) provides computer related support for
all Town of Bethlehem departments. MIS also serves the Town as a central
technological resource and assists with any Town related technology needs,
concerns and requests. MIS purchases and maintains desktop and server hardware
and software and maintains the network on which they communicate. MIS stores and
protects business critical digital data necessary for Town operations. The MIS
Department also integrates Town users to the external users they must report to,
such as the State, County and financial institutions. The Town Website is hosted
and maintained by the MIS Department. MIS is also responsible for the Town
Geographic Information System (GIS). The MIS Department staff consists of a
Director, Programmer/Analyst, Network/Web Specialist and a GIS Coordinator.
The department assists with the research and integration of newer
technologies which enhance the work environment, enhances services and promotes
community involvement with government activities. MIS supports approximately 130
computer desktops and laptops, 5 network data servers, 3 iSeries servers, over
50 printers, 2 large format plotters, multiple Cisco switching devices, network
firewall and network spam filter. Approximately 50 software applications are
also supported by the MIS department.

format. He is vigilant about security and protects system integrity
against external threats by updating the hardware with the latest security
software. He is a leader who can provide formal training for all users on
new applications to continuously promote growth of their skills. Mr.

invaluable perspectives on operational and technology issues. Immediate
