The New York State Department of Transportation will be conducting rehabilitation of the State Route 140 (Cherry Avenue Extension) bridge, over the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail, just north of the intersection of Kenwood Avenue. This essential construction rehabilitation project will require one lane road closures in both directions on the bridge.
Starting Monday, August 31, work utilizing the Rail Trail under Cherry Ave Ext will take place Monday night through Thursday night (8/31 to 9/3), suspend for Labor Day weekend, and start back Tuesday night through Friday night (9/8 to 9/11).
During this construction, the Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail will need to be closed underneath the bridge each night from 8 pm to 5:30 am. Currently, NYS DOT expects that all construction on the bridge will take place during 2020. An exact completion date hasn’t been provided at this time.
