Glenmont Roundabout Construction – What’s Happening Now

Construction Pre-Work

  • Starting July 6, National Grid will begin to install underground gas lines. This activity is expected to last 4-6 weeks. Work will begin near the Price Chopper Route 9W driveway and then move along Route 9W towards Feura Bush and Glenmont roads during the week of July 12. Traffic Impact: Minor traffic impact is expected with lane shifts and flaggers between 9a.m. to 3p.m. daily.
  • Starting July 8, work begins on installing the temporary traffic signals. Traffic Impact: During parts of the work, lane shifts and flaggers will be in place between 9a.m. to 3p.m. daily.
  • July 8-9, conduct underbrush removal on Glenmont Road (in proximity of the NYS Thruway bridge) and Route 9W (north of the Price Chopper driveway on the east side of the road). Traffic Impact: This work will have minimal traffic impacts as most work is off the roadway. Glenmont Road may have lane shifts to accommodate equipment.

  • Once temporary traffic signals are installed overhead utility companies, FirstLight Fiber, Crown Castle Fiber, Charter Communications (Spectrum), and Verizon Communications will relocate their utility lines.
  • The main construction is set to begin in August.
