If you are considering starting a business or expanding your business in the new year, you may be eligible to apply for a Town of Bethlehem Microenterprise Grant. In this round, seven local businesses have received awards to date, including The Grove Bistro, Brewtus Roasting, Shawna’s Dogs, Max Ross Insurance, the Warbler Brewery, Sandy’s Seedlings, and CrossFit Spur.
Grants can range from $5,000 to $35,000 support the purchase of capital goods, including machinery, furniture, fixtures, equipment; and/or to provide working capital to support business operations. Both startups and existing businesses are eligible, and grants can cover up to 90% of project costs. Businesses must have 5 or fewer employees, and must either create one new job or meet certain income restrictions.
The Town has approximately $75,000 in remaining funds. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until program funds are exhausted.
Applications and program information are available online. Please contact John Taylor, Senior Economic Developer, at 518-439-4955 x1189 or jtaylor@townofbethlehem.org with any questions.
