Composting can divert 30% of waste from landfills, save money, lower your carbon footprint, and build healthy soils, It is also one of the easiest and most satisfying sustainability steps you can take!  If you have ever wanted to compost but haven't yet, or are looking to switch to one of our other options in Bethlehem such as our new-ish compost "drop spots" program, make a fresh start this spring!  Bethlehem's Recycling and Composting Director, Dan Lilkas-Rain, will teach the basics, answer questions on all three options (backyard composting, our drop-off program, and curbside service), discuss compost equipment including the Town's annual composter and rain barrel sale in April, and troubleshoot common issues.

This event is open to all ages.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
