Applying for a Pistol Permit
You may apply for a pistol permit if you are a resident of the Town of Bethlehem at the time of application. Under New York State Law, you must be 21 years of age to be issued a pistol permit and to purchase a pistol. You are not required to buy or own a gun at the time of application.

You may visit the Bethlehem Police Department at 447 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to pick up your pistol permit application packet free of charge or you may download the appropriate form using the links below. New York State requires the application form to be printed double-sided. Single-sided applications cannot be accepted.

In order to avoid unnecessary delays in the processing of your application, please read all the forms carefully and be sure to complete all forms before returning to our office with the completed forms. Applicants must appear in person to turn in their application.
